Senior leaders from across Yorkshire have gathered at a transformative housing scheme in North Halifax. Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Councillor Keith Ingle, joined senior representatives from Homes England and top 10 housebuilder, Keepmoat, to celebrate the development launch.

Leeds Jewish Housing Association (LJHA) has formally opened a development of 28 new affordable properties for families in the north of the city. The construction of 14 two-bed and 12 three-bed homes, a two-bed apartment and a one-bed adapted ground floor apartment on the Queenshill estate marks the completion of the second phase of a two-part Leeds LJHA scheme part-funded by Homes England.

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has agreed to lease the top two floors at 31 Wellington Street, an 80,000 sq ft Grade A office development in central Leeds. The £60 million speculative project by Prescient Capital is currently under construction at the junction of Wellington Street and Northern Street, close to Leeds railway station.

Law firm Square One Law is taking over 3,000sq ft of recently refurbished Grade A office space in the heart of Leeds. It is moving into the seventh floor of 7 Park Row on a five-year lease, increasing its floorspace and enhancing the firm’s ability to expand further. James Jackson of Leeds-based property consultancy Carter Towler brokered the deal.

JLL has successfully completed the acquisition of Livingstone House at Leeds Dock on behalf of Luminate Education Group, securing a new city centre campus for Leeds City College. Leeds City College, part of Luminate Education Group, the region's largest further education provider, will receive £8 million in UK government funding to enable the expansion of their education services in Leeds.

The York Handmade Brick Company has supplied tens of thousands of bricks for a new-build housing development in Rufforth, near York. The Alne-based manufacturer secured a £108,500 contract to provide its Handmade Texture Hambleton Blend bricks for Hawthorn Fields, a development of 21 homes. Construction on the scheme is now complete, with only one property remaining on the market.

Education recruitment specialist Operam Education Group has announced the acquisition of Choice Teachers and its brand, Bespoke Education, for an undisclosed sum. The deal marks the ninth acquisition for the Barnsley-headquartered group as part of a 10-year growth strategy.

Zenzero, an IT support services provider, has secured a 3,056 sq ft office at Concordia Works on Sovereign Street, Leeds. The firm signed a 10-year lease for the second floor of the former warehouse, paying £28 per sq ft. The deal, brokered by Knight Frank on behalf of landlord Boultbee Brooks, leaves only one floor remaining in the 13,922 sq ft building.

Leeds’ office market recorded 633,000 sq ft of take-up in 2025, in line with the five-year average but marginally below 2024’s high watermark, according to research from JLL. The city’s steady performance reflects strong occupier demand from within the legal and professional services sectors.

Beal Homes has commenced infrastructure works on a 52-acre site in Hull, marking the start of a £120m residential development that will further expand the popular Kingswood community. The East Yorkshire-based housebuilder has moved on-site to begin the construction of roads and sewage systems for the project, named King’s Crescent.

Clegg Construction is “proud and honoured” to be delivering the most significant new office building in Leeds. The Nottingham-based company is the main contractor for 31 Wellington Street, which comprises 80,000 sq ft of prime office space, a sky lounge, terrace, events space and fitness and gym facilities.

HBC Construction Limited (HBC), formerly known as Henry Boot Construction, has completed the £10m restoration of the Grade II-listed Ramsden Building at the University of Huddersfield. Located on Queensgate in Huddersfield town centre, Ramsden is one of the town’s most architecturally significant and historically important buildings.

A local football club has teamed up with award-winning Beal Homes to launch show homes at a £105m development in Lincolnshire. Immingham Town FC First Team Manager Jon Davy and Vice-Captain Alfie Davy performed the opening of the two new show homes at Beal’s Highfields development in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire.

Three new occupiers have moved into the renovated Ambler House in Leeds city centre. Spire Barristers, engineering and talent consultancy Apera and software company Azzuu have all taken space in Ambler House, which is situated within the popular Trevelyan Square, off Boar Lane, and just a 5-minute walk from Leeds railway station.

North East planning specialist Hedley Planning has recorded its highest ever level of residential approvals as it looks ahead to continued growth in the next 12 months. The news comes as the firm, which provides planning services for volume housebuilders including affordable home providers, either submitted or secured approval for 3,322 dwellings across the North East region in 2025.
