Yorkshire Farmer Tom Carlisle Honoured With 2026 YAS/RABI Award
Yorkshire farmer recognised for outstanding achievement in agricultural education and public engagement
Yorkshire farmer Tom Carlisle, known as The Dales Farmer, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and RABI Award for Outstanding Achievement in Farming & Agriculture.
Nominated by RABI – the Farmers Charity, Tom has been recognised for his contribution to improving public understanding of modern farming.
It’s an absolute honour to receive the YAS and RABI award for Outstanding Achievement in Farming & Agriculture among so many inspirational names. It means so much to me, particularly as one of the youngest recipients of the award.
Tom Carlisle
Farming in the Yorkshire Dales, Tom has used his digital platforms to share an honest and accessible insight into the day-to-day realities, responsibilities and challenges of upland farming. By sharing both the challenges and rewards of farming life, he has helped more people understand modern agriculture and encouraged greater connection between farming and non-farming audiences.
We're delighted that Tom is this year's winner of the YAS/RABI Outstanding Achievement in Farming & Agriculture Award.
His educational and authentic social media content has helped thousands of people gain a better understanding of modern farming. He shares the realities of farming life with honesty and humour, celebrating not only the challenges but also the pride, purpose and enjoyment that come with working in agriculture.
Tom has done a huge amount to bridge the gap between farming and the wider public, helping more people understand the skill, commitment and passion that underpin British agriculture. We're delighted to see him receive this well-deserved recognition.
Alicia Chivers, Chief Executive at RABI
