Bed and mattress retailer, Time4Sleep, has announced its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

The transition is a significant step for the Yorkshire-based company, and one that places the business's 13 employees at the centre of its future.

Under the EOT structure, a majority stake in Time4Sleep has been transferred into a trust held on behalf of all employees. Managing director Jonathan Warren and family retains a 20% personal shareholding and he will continue in this role, ensuring continuity of leadership and ensuring there is no impact on day to day operations, whilst empowering the team to share in the business's future prosperity.

Employees will also gain formal representation through a Trust Board, with a staff-elected employee trustee ensuring the team’s voice is heard at the highest level of governance. The business will remain independent, customer-focused, and rooted in the values that have underpinned its growth, including quality products, honest advice, and a commitment to helping customers get a better night’s sleep.

Founded in 2005 by Jonathan and headquartered in Elland, Yorkshire, Time4Sleep has grown from a start-up bedroom retailer into a successful ecommerce business generating approximately £10 million in annual revenue. The company sells an exclusive range of beds, bed frames, and mattresses to customers across the UK, combining competitive pricing with an award-winning customer experience.

The business places a high emphasis on product quality, and ensures that all stocked beds and mattresses are tested and evaluated. This reputation for quality has also seen Time4Sleep become a go-to supplier for major high street retailers.

The beds and mattress sector is a competitive space, and what sets Time4Sleep apart has always been our people. This transition solidifies this ethos for the next two decades and beyond. Our company ethos is something that will outlast any one individual, a business owned by the people who live and breathe it every day.

“Far from a simple change to the business structure, this is a statement of our values. The people who turn up every day, who care about every customer order and every five-star review, deserve to own a piece of what they’ve helped build. I couldn’t imagine a better next chapter for Time4Sleep.”
Jonathan Warren, managing director

Time4Sleep will continue to trade as normal, with its full range of beds, TV beds, bed frames, Ottoman beds, and mattresses available for next-day and express delivery across the UK.
