From Labourer To Manager: Josh Hall’s Rise At Mulgrave
Josh Hall, 27, has been appointed Site Manager for a high-profile luxury development in York, marking a rapid ascent through the ranks of regional housebuilder Mulgrave.
Hailing from Pocklington, Hall joined the firm as a labourer just seven years ago. He now oversees the build programme at Urban Renaissance in Fulford—a prestigious collection of four homes with price tags reaching £2.1 million. The development is situated within the grounds of the Grade II-listed Ousefield House.
Hall’s progression was supported by a two-year training programme, leading to his qualification as an assistant site manager in 2023. He subsequently earned a Level 4 certificate in site management from the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
Josh Hall said: “For Mulgrave to have faith in me to deliver this high-profile project is humbling and inspiring. At Urban Renaissance, I’ve had the opportunity to further hone my skills as we fashion the bespoke homes in a sophisticated blend of traditional and contemporary styles.”
The project features complex architectural elements, including zinc cladding and anthracite aluminium, alongside green technologies such as air source heat pumps.
Will Cowley, Area Manager for Mulgrave, added: “Urban Renaissance is a prestigious collection which combines streamlined urban architectural charm with luxurious modern amenities, and we are sure that it is in safe hands with Josh at the helm. He has embraced the challenge and looks to have a very bright future within this company.”
