Croda Unveils Integrated Guangzhou Facility To Anchor Asian Consumer Care Growth

Croda International Plc has announced the official commissioning of its new integrated facility in Guangzhou, China. The strategic investment brings together the dual capabilities of Croda Beauty Actives and Iberchem Fragrances, establishing a powerful regional hub designed to accelerate growth in one of the world’s most dynamic beauty and consumer markets.

The move reflects Croda’s long-term commitment to China and the wider Asia region. As regional consumer care markets rapidly evolve—driven by a growing appetite for premium products, shifting preferences, and accelerating innovation cycles—the Guangzhou site places Croda’s formulation and scent expertise exactly where the demand is.

By co-locating expertise from both Croda Beauty and Iberchem, the facility encourages immediate knowledge sharing and enhances customer responsiveness. The site is purpose-built to cater to brands seeking scientifically substantiated ingredients, locally relevant botanical solutions (particularly plant-derived extracts), and fragrance technologies tailored to local consumer tastes.

Steve Foots, Group Chief Executive, commented: "China is a strategically important market for Croda and a key driver of innovation across consumer care. [...] By combining expertise across Beauty Actives, in particular botanical extracts from plants, and Fragrances, we are strengthening our ability to deliver differentiated innovation and support long-term growth in Asia."

A core objective of the new centre is deeper integration. Rather than operating in silos, the facility allows Croda to offer comprehensive, cross-functional support to its regional partners, linking formulation science with olfactory design.

Sandra Breene, President of Croda Consumer Care, emphasised the value of this combined approach: “What makes this centre especially exciting is the strength of integration it represents. By bringing together Iberchem’s fragrance expertise with our Beauty Actives capabilities, we are unlocking new possibilities – creating more holistic, multi-sensory solutions and enabling deeper, more meaningful co-creation with our customers.”

The Guangzhou facility introduces several major advantages for local and regional customers:

Expanded Scent Capabilities: A significant step up in local perfumery creation and production capacity to fuel fragrance business growth in China.

Localised Botanicals: Deeper, more accessible capabilities in locally relevant botanical ingredients.

Agile Co-Creation: Direct, enhanced collaboration opportunities with Croda's on-site technical and formulation teams.

Market Responsiveness: Sharper alignment with fast-moving regional formulation and consumer trends.

Supply Chain Resilience: Increased manufacturing capability and reliable local supply within Asia, backed by Croda's wider global network.

This investment builds directly on Croda’s overarching strategy to strengthen its footprint in high-growth markets. By bridging complementary Group capabilities under one roof, Croda is positioned to deliver science-led, sustainable, and highly differentiated solutions that meet the evolving needs of consumers across Asia.
